Sideboard with display case by Paolo Buffa for La Permanente Mobili Cantù, 1950s. Rosewood structure moved on the front and sides. The lower part has two doors decorated with lozenges and surrounded by floral inlays. The base rests on finely inlaid spiked legs, ending with brass tips. The structure narrows at the top, which consists of a single door with a showcase: an oval inlaid with stylized acanthus leaves and around it a ray veneer surrounded by a maple thread inlay gives space for a glass plate. To end, the “hat”, masterfully inlaid with wavy leaves. Inside in bleached maple, red silk and glass. Light wear and patina due to age and use. Insignificant light and dark shades and micro craquelure at top (see photos). Official proof of authenticity available as period catalogs, design documents or other literary sources.
Packaging with bubble wrap and cardboard boxes is included. If the wooden packaging is needed (fumigated crates or boxes) for US and International Shipping, it’s required a separate cost (will be quoted separately).
