Rare and important antique American early 19th century figured mahogany “Duncan Phyfe” style flap-top secretary bookcase with gorgeous lyre-shaped glazed doors. Color of mahogany has sun-faded to a handsome honey color.
Owing to certain construction details, though Duncan Phyfe is from New York, this piece is attributed to the Philadelphia area.
