This beautiful wardrobe, which was retailed by the Parisian furnishers Au Gros Chêne, is superbly decorated with Neoclassical style ormolu mounts and intricate marquetry designs. The cabinet features a large central door fronted with a mirror. This door is flanked by two further doors, both finished on the exterior with marquetry designs of classical vases; the inside of each door features a mirror. The wardrobe is raised on cabriole style legs finished with ormolu mounts and is profusely adorned with Neoclassical style ormolu brackets and other motifs. The veneer that finishes the surfaces throughout is beautifully arranged in order to reveal the lustrous grain of the wood.
The features a brass plaque stating it was retailed by Au Gros Chêne.
