Estate sale back of closet find!

This amazingly preserved very early Buchanan’s Black & White Scotch Whiskey bottle is quite a rare find in this gigantic size. The bottles stands 18.5″ tall with a 5″ bottom diameter.

The bottle is a deep, saturated green color which can be seen when we backlit this bottle against our photography lights, please see the third photo. This bottle will display beautifully on a window sill backlit by the sun.

As we place some of our items with film and television period productions (who value authentic patina, distress and age) we have left this bottle in the original, as-found condition. The bottle could use a thorough cleaning if it is to be used and displayed in the home.

Both the front and back labels show heavy paper toning, water spots and discoloration with substantial areas of paper loss – all typical of age, use and storage method. There is considerable dust gathered around the rim and inside the bottle with areas old stains, residue and scuffs on the glass surface exterior. less
