This striking Wedgwood crimson dip bas-relief covered jug features an applied white jasper neoclassical decoration of grapevines bordering the rim. Delicately rendered maidens, children and foliage encircle the pitcher’s body, providing wonderful contrast on the rich crimson background. Only created for a short period of time during Wedgwood’s history, crimson jasper pieces are incredibly rare and highly collectible, and the present piece is a gorgeous example of this unique style.
