A Swedish neoclassical style painted wood drop-leaf table from the early 20th century, with carved apron, fluted legs and cross stretcher. Born in Sweden during the first decade of the 20th century, this lovely Swedish table feature a rectangular top with drop leaves, sitting above a charming apron, carved with delicate grapes and scoop motifs on its longer sides. When its two drop leaves are down, the table’s width is 40 inches, while open, the table is 57.5″ wide. The ensemble is raised on four cylindrical legs with fluted accents, connected to one another through an H-form cross stretcher. The entire body is painted in a soft color, typical of the Scandinavian taste for light palettes, aiming at brightening the Swedes’ homes during the long and dark winters. With its clean neoclassical style lines and lovely décor, this Swedish drop-leaf table circa 1910 will bring a touch of elegance to any home.
