19th century French Louis XVI painted footstool ~ vanity bench represents a tailored expression of the Neoclassical Revival that for all practical purposes never really ended! handcrafted from seasoned fruitwood, it features four tailored, tapered legs with a bun form towards the top just before they join to the apron. The apron is of a Greek form, with angular features embellished by carved laurel wreath motif highlighted in gold. Gold trim on the legs and brass foot tips add a nice touch. The painted finish has achieved a lovely patina over the decades. Upholstered in silk, it is ready to reupholster in your coordinating fabric.
