This is a very rare antique Wedgwood Etruria Basalt teapot. It is eight sided and decorated on all sides. One side has a medallion of a man playing a lyre, while the other side has a medallion of a pensive woman leaning on a plinth. There are decorations of French bows and instruments flanking both the lady and the gentleman medallions. It also has a beautifully decorated spout and also a wonderful finial on the lid of the tea pot. It was made before 1890. This is really a collector’s piece for someone that collects black basalt Wedgwood or for a collector of rare teapots
