A fine French Louis XVI style mantel mirror hand-crafted in France in the 19th century. The ornately carved giltwood frame is in excellent condition and is richly patinated. The frame is embellished with several bands of ornate high relief moldings including ‘twisted rope’ at its outer edge and a ‘string of pearls’ around the original mirror plate which is in great condition with just a bit of foxing. A beautifully designed mirror that would add elegance and texture to any room either placed on a mantel or atop a console table.
