Swedish neoclassical dining table from the late 18th century. Original light grey paint from 1790 which over time has earned an authentic patina of age. It has straight tapered legs with two leafs, one on each side. Each leaf in turn have two moveable legs frames for support. One-drawer going all the way through the middle section. This drop-leaf table is from northern Sweden and made circa 1790. There are some marks and distress after almost 250 years of use.
More internationally known as the neoclassical period, both neoclassical and Gustavian refer to the same time period and the names are simply different between regions. The middle section of this table is 47 times 127 cm and each leaf is 69.5 cm wide making the total possible length 186 cm.
