Contemporary Design
Inspired by the work of Escher, this Maurits table, designed by Fred Juul, proves that a table doesnt have to be antique to be an impressive testimony of craftsmanship. The marquetry tabletop in reclaimed oak contains 381 rhombi cut from old Italian wine barrels while the brass legs create a delicate inverse coronation. The piece is handmade by master craftsmen in Tuscany, Italy. The tabletop is 10 cm or 4 inches thick, and the height underneath is 68 cm or 26 3/4 inches, comfortably seating ten.
This listing is for the version with black powder-coated iron legs, for the version with brass legs or for longer versions (295 cm / 9.7 inches / twelve seats or 349 cm / 11.5 inches / 14 seats). For the round versions, please see the dedicated listings.
