These vintage “Tables Gigognes” (or nesting tables) were created in Paris circa 1960. Attributed to Maison Baguès and built of brass, the set stand on fluted legs decorated with turned motifs at the shoulders and ending with tapered feet; the three tables are further secured with a bottom stretcher embellished with a center finial. Each surface is dressed with the original inset glass decorated with a mirrored border. The Louis XVI neoclassical stacking tables are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn a rich patinated gilt finish. The sleek, simple design of the rectangular side tables along with the mirrored surfaces make these pieces the perfect addition to any living room.
Since 1860, the Maison Baguès has been located in the center of Paris and specializes in the creation of luxury furniture and lighting. Early on, it became the emblem of French Savoir-Faire in wrought iron work and brass, along with French craftsmanship, which is highly valued internationally.
