A French Neoclassical pair of carved-wood and upholstered tub-style armchairs from the 19th century. This antique pair of bergères occasional chairs from France have upholstered, tub-style backs with softly curved wooden top rail that slopes down from the shoulders to create the arms. Spindle carved front arm posts continue down making up the front legs, with rear legs being sabre. The seats are also upholstered with a removable cushion, and framed within a cleanly designed wood seat rail. The cream color paint is old, but not original. The chairs are in need of an upholstery refresher; the perfect opportunity to customize them to compliment your personal design aesthetic. Arm height is 28.25 from the floor. This pair of Neoclassical French bergères are larger in scale than what is typical for the period, which makes for a more comfortable seating experience.
