Neoclassical tole Giltwood and Mahogany Ornamental Trumeau or Mantle Mirror. Ornately carved mahogany giltwood mirror. Top features a raised mounted classic urn crest. From the urn, floral fern carvings drape down each side from the top of the mirror to about 3/4 of the way down. The top two corners are decorated with hand carved giltwood flowers which join the floral and swag leaf carvings on the side. Inside the frame, as well as around the exterior of the frame, are detailed carved wavy scroll patterns. Between the two on in the center of the frame, the rich mahogany is left untouched which adds a great contrast against the gold. This elegant neoclassical 19th-century mirror would look quite lovely adorning a mantel, bedroom, or entry hall.
