At the center of the plate, are three divots in the shape of seashells. This would be a great spot for hot sauce, or other condiments.
The edges of the plate are scalloped or pie crust, and have an alternating pattern under each. A gold painted rim detail surrounds the piece. Some rubbing of the gold has occurred.
This piece dates to pre 1900s and is in wonderful age appropriate condition. One small chip to the top at the edge as shown in photos.
Germany oyster plate
How we would style it:
The perfect platter for summer suppers. We’d use this piece on a dinner table, perhaps in the company of other similar pieces. Served with oysters and Prosecco of course!
